Starting a new fantasy YA series beginning with City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
About the book: Fifteen-year-old Clary Fray is looking forward to having a good time with her friend Simon as the Pandemonium Club in New York City. But what she witnesses through the dazzling lights and pulsing beats will change her life forever.
While dancing, Clary’s eyes fix on a beautiful woman in an elegant white dress luring a young man into a private area of the club. Following them, Clary sees two strange, knife-wielding men brutally kill him. And when the victim vanishes into thin air, she is shocked. Intrigued by these mysterious beings, Clary begins a journey that draws her into a world filled with vampires, werewolves and the Shadowhunters–a group of warriors attempting to eradicate the legions of the evil demons infesting the world.
While I’ve been dying for this final book to come in at the library and I’ve been so anxious to read it, I know that I’ll be disappointed when the series is finished and there’s nothing else! I’ve got both the audio version and the hard copy so I’m able to either follow along or pick up either when it suits me. So, here it is.. the final book of the Twilight Series, Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
From the jacket: To be irrovacably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound conncetion to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her immenent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs…
Finished New Moon in one day and starting part 3 tonight! So glad it’s the weekend so I can plug in and listen for hours.
Tonight’s audio book is Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer.
About the book: (from Booklist) The third episode of Meyer’s vampire-romance series finds heroine Bella Swan anxious to become a vampire and live forever with handsome vampire Edward. Obstacles arise when Edward demands marriage and werewolf Jacob declares his love for Bella….
Ok.. I’m hooked! I couldn’t wait to get to the newest book in the saga that I took it in the fastest form I could get my hands on. I was able to download it digitally from my library so I’m plugged in and will be listening like a nut… (sorry podcasts but you’re on the back burner for awhile.) Current audio book is New Moon (The Twilight Saga Book 2) by Stephenie Meyer.
About the book: Recovered from the vampire attack that hospitalized her in the conclusion of Twilight (Little, Brown, 2005), Bella celebrates her birthday with her boyfriend Edward and his family, a unique clan of vampires that has sworn off human blood. But the celebration abruptly ends when the teen accidentally cuts her arm on broken glass. The sight and smell of her blood trickling away forces the Cullen family to retreat lest they be tempted to make a meal of her. After all is mended, Edward, realizing the danger that he and his family create for Bella, sees no option for her safety but to leave.
Well, I did it.. I got sucked in. I didn’t think that I would be interested in the immensely popular Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer but we watched the movie the other night and I’m hooked. I was mesmorized by the story (and they picked the perfect actors to play the roles to do it!) I downloaded the audio version from my library as soon as I finished the book I was reading in the morning. I ended up listening to about 2 hours last night while cleaning and so far it’s very similiar which is a credit to the film folks as well. I love this! Reading this first one via audio because it was the fastest way for me to get my hands on it but I’m not sure about how I’ll read the future additions.
