Current Read: make over your Metabolism

Making over your metabolismI’ll usually pick up any book about diet and exercise that catches my eye and Make Over Your Metabolism by Robert Reames was no different. I spotted it in the new book section at the library and I’m reading a little bit each night before turning out the light. So far, lots of what I’m reading mirrors other things that I’ve read but I’m sure I’ll get something new from this one before I’m finished. Even if I pick up a couple of tips it will be worth it.

Current Read: Go Green, Live Rich
Posted by kjcardoza at 8:45 am in 2008, Non-fiction, Self-Help, green living

Go Green, Live Rich by David Bach is my purse book to carry around with me while I’m waiting in lines and when I have a few spare minutes. I’ve always been a “green girl” and nature lover and try to live sustainably for the good of the planet.  If I can save a few bucks during these hard economic times, all the better. Not being frugal is really one of my faults and I’m trying to work on that.

Current Read: The Secret

I’m not sure where I heard about this book or if the cover just caught my eye in the new section of the library, but I’m reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It’s all about thinking positively and living the life of your dreams.

A New Earth
Posted by kjcardoza at 5:39 am in Non-fiction, Oprah, Self-Help

Last night was the final webcast of Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth but I’m not putting the book aside. This one needs some re-reading and intense digestion. I really need to not just read and learn but apply some of his practices… I’m forever multi-tasking and I need to learn to be more present.

Current Read: A New Earth

I’ve been reading Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose and taking the web seminar with Oprah’s Book Club on Monday nights. The book is intense and focuses on living in the present and overcoming the Ego. I’ve been reading just one chapter at a time to prepare for each week’s webinar, often finding that I need to re-read them in order to digest them. For those of you who are reading it, you’ll know why I have this picture here. My thoughts after the first two chapters were captured in Muse with Me 006 which can be downloaded or listened to via the player on the podcast website.
