I’m in recovery mode from a procedure so my reading has fallen way off for awhile. I’m hoping to get back on track soon but for now, sweet slumber is what I need. See you on the other side!
As stated in my prior post, I’m changing the format of the blog posts and will post when I’ve finished each book rather than when I’m starting a book, so that I can include a review in with the posts. For the Holiday Challenge books though, I’m going to go back to the original post and ADD a review blurb on each post.

I also reviewed all books read thus far in December, today. I’m going to review all as read from here on out.
Sparked by the Holiday Reading Challenge and the fact that I need to link back to any reviews that I’m doing to enter the drawings, I’ve been rethinking the way that I’m going to post my Reads here.. I presently post “Current Read” and there really isn’t a good way to go back and post any kind of review without doing an additional post or editing an old one, which will not show up in anyone’s rss reader, so nobody would see it anyway. (There is a an option to add the review right on the Now Reading plugin pages but it’s not really convenient to anyone looking for it and isn’t easy to find.)
So, I’m going to start making a blog post after I’ve finished the book instead of when I’m starting it. As always, the list of current books will be in the sidebar to see what I’m reading now along with easy access to the full library. Who knows, I may even jump in one of those “What are you reading?” memes if it strikes my fancy.
I’ll go back and do the Holiday Reading book reviews and December books and will be linking back to the original posts but any new books that I read will have my comments in the post from here on out.
Hopefully these changes will make more sense and become more useful. I’ll also be using a 5 star rating system to rate my reads, much like Goodreads uses. (That’s another reason why I’m not going to rate inside of Now Reading since they have 1-10 scale which I feel is much too clunky.)
I’ll start tomorrow.. For now, the sandman is calling!
zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Well, it looks like there is a bug with the Now Reading plug-in. I’m able to access books that I added in the past to change the statuses but I can’t add any new books to the library. Even using the ISBN number produces the result “Sorry, but amazon.com did not return any results…” Hopefully I can figure it out soon as I rely on it to keep track of the books that I’ve read which happens to be the whole point of this blog!
I found this one, A Girl Named Zippy: Growing up in Mooreland, Indiana while browsing through the online audio books and the cover caught my eye. I’ve never read Haven Kimmel before so I’m giving it a try. This memoir is read by the author.
Lynne’s decided to change the start date for the challenge to May 1st instead of June 1st. (Sounds good to me!) She also set up a separate blog just for the challenge which can be found here.
I’ve listed my book choices on my original post.
I’m not sure what happened but I set up this WordPress blog and new home for my Book Nook and encountered all kinds of errors when I deleted one page. So, since it was still quite empty I decided to just do a clean re-install and start fresh. I’ll be using the Now Reading plug-in (which I’m constantly calling Reading Now in error..hehe) It’ll keep track of all the books that I’m reading and allow me to link to others, join challenges and join the conversations. Meanwhile, I’m starting my April vacation and hope to get lots of reading in.
