Books Read 2017

This past year has been the most difficult of my life. Losing mom unexpectedly in May, breaking my foot and being housebound for the summer and Al’s surgery in August were three things that were not “normal” for us.  While I was home more than usual, I also binge watched lots of series on Hulu, Prime, Netflix, and PBS as well as listened to podcasts.  If it wasn’t for audio books I would barely get much reading done these days because I get the most done while multitasking other things.  Considering all that went down, my list is decent.  My ultimate goal was 100 books with a minimum of 55.  I need to get back to the gym/walking so hopefully it goes up this year!

Ninety!! I made ninety! (I just counted…lol)

Shooting for 100+ for 2018

For the Month: December

I love being home!!  We had a nice long Christmas break this year and although I spent some of it binge watching series, I did get some reading in.  Here’s my list for this month.

For the Month: November

Here’s my November list.  Commutes back and forth to PT and a trip to Arizona for mom’s memorial gave me lots of listening time. I also listened to podcasts too which cut into the reading time.

Back to school means busy, busy, busy!  The only reading I got done was audio books during commutes and canning.  Here’s my little list.

For the Month: August

I’m back to school but had a good August in terms of reading. I’ve got hundreds of podcasts backed up because it’s been audiobook listening most of the time. Now that school’s in session, I expect it will fall off considerably.  I’ll do the best I can to keep some balance.

For the Month: June

Foot surgery has put a monkey wrench in my summer plans!  I won’t be listening to audio books on any long walks but I can listen while I’m seated in a chair with my leg up, knitting or doing puzzles.   I haven’t had the concentration to read paper books since the surgery but have mostly been listening along. Here’s my little list.. .although the Gabaldon book was 50 hours long!

fiction 5/ non-fiction 1

audio 5/ paper 1

For the Month: January

Haven’t had as much time to read as I would have liked this past month. Honestly, I spent a LOT of time binge watching series on Amazon Prime, Netflix and my DVR. Also, I am not proud to say that I spent (wasted) a lot of time on social media getting sucked into all of the drama that’s going on in this country since January 20th.  I’m swearing it off and will definitely be unplugging more. It’s good for my reading list and good for my soul….
