I’m finally starting the book that most of my bookloving friends have loved this year, The Guernsey Literary and the Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.
About the book: January 1946: writer Juliet Ashton receives a letter from a stranger, a founding member of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. And so begins a remarkable tale of the island of Guernsey during the German occupation, and of a society as extraordinary as its name.
My thoughts: I loved, loved, loved this book! It was probably one of my top reads of the year. I fell in love with the characters, the island, and the format of the book coming in a series of letters. Are there more like this? Please, please, please say yes! I hated for it to end.
My Rating: 5/5
