Day Off Dig Out…

It’s the crack of dawn.. (literally, since we changed the clocks back this weekend so it’s getting light now) and I’ve got a bonus day off because it’s Election Day in the city and they’re using my building so school is closed. I’m up early to get Jake up for school and debated sleeping in or jumping in because I’ve got tons to do but Bella’s up now so it’s coffee and catch up for me!

I’ve finally gotten the Redskins Tailgate post up after having problems with Wordpress twice on Sunday. Something is buggy with the application, ONLY on this computer. I’ve lost the “Visual” tab when writing a post so I can’t add hyperlinks or pictures on this blog and the “Save and Continue Editing” leaves me with a blank entry and no draft on the tailgate blog (the source of my lost post on Sunday.) It’s weird because neither of these things happen on the laptop, just on this PC. I’m confused by this because Wordpress is hosted on my site, I only access it through these computers… something else for me to ponder!

The Pats traveled to Indy on Sunday and played 60 minutes of football, coming back from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter to beat the Colts 24-20. It was a nail biter and a very exciting game! I’m totally psyched (as is all of Patriot Nation) to be heading into the Bye Week at 9-0! This certainly is an exciting year for us in NE with the way the Pats are playing and with the Red Sox winning the World Series. (Would ROCK to have a double header again this year for sure!)

Podcamp Boston 2 certainly didn’t disappoint and it was awesome to meet so many of people that I’ve admired and listened to/read for the past couple of years. There were some great sessions (I only attended Saturday) most especially Mitch Joel’s personal branding session which I was looking forward to. I didn’t take many pictures or do any recording but there’s a slew of it online from others. Check out the great video by Mark Blevis :-) In addition to meeting folks, attending sessions and sharing ideas, the music on Saturday night was awesome. Matthew Ebel had his Goodbye Planet Earth CD release and I also got to meet Natalie Gelman and Grace Buford who played terrific sets as well.

Today’s game plan is to read and record a couple of chapters of a book for a friend, label some Flickr pictures that I’ve yet to do, clear out the inbox, and do the Cinderella thing around here. I’ve still got a post- game podcast to do yet and with it being the bye week, I’m planning on doing a Muse with Me, playing with photoshop, catching up with my Reading List, and doing some knitting. But for now… more coffee!

Podcamp is here!

It’s 5 hours until the time I get up to get ready to take the train to Boston for Podcamp Boston 2. Many folks are already there and have been going to events all evening, including shows with Matthew Ebel and Munk. I stayed home and spent the night with Bella, shopped for the tailgate on Sunday, and got the Miami Trek report done and posted.

There was absolutely no time this week for a podcast that’s for sure, since it took me all week just to get the site updated and trek stuff done. I’ve also been doing a lot of walking after school. It’s been good for my back and I’ve felt better this week than I have in a long time. So, continued exercise is definitely on the agenda for me.

Since I didn’t do a podcast this week, I threw the interview that I did last month with Andrew Findlater of The Dish on Sports down the pipe. Hopefully, I’m back on track this week (although it is a home game and the tailgate report usually takes quite a bit of time. )

Also, my last two guest episodes of 365Tao dropped this week as well; #294 Sitting and #299 Existing , and man, there were some pretty tough words in that final one, that’s for sure!

Time to hit the hay so I’ll be rested for the long day tomorrow. Geek gadgets are charging and I’ve got a full supply of batteries ready to go. Tomorrow should be a great day of learning and meeting many of my new media colleagues for the first time face to face. I’m really look forward to it, just as I did when I’ve met online members of Patriot Nation in person for the first time. I’m also really looking forward to Matthew Ebel’s show in the evening and getting my hands on my pre-ordered copy of his new album Goodbye Planet Earth.

The Sox/Rockies Game 3 of the World Series is at 8:00 too. It’s almost a good thing that they’re playing away tomorrow as Boston is going to be crazy and crowded enough as it is and I’ll need to be sure of a spot on the return train.

Night kids, and also, Go Sox!

Back to the real world..

Back from a wonderful trip to Florida for the Pats/Miami game and I’ve been pretty busy since then trying to get things done around here. The Trek report will hopefully get done tomorrow. Thankfully, the pictures are already posted to Flickr due to free lobby wifi, although they’re not all labeled yet. Credit goes to Kelsea for the player pics as neither Al nor I took any.

I spent all night tonight working on the website update but once again, Frontpage wasn’t cooperating. I think it’s really time to switch to Dreamweaver but I don’t really want to invest any more money into this PC as I’m saving for my MacBook Pro. Things just took way too much time tonight so here it is, 11:30, and between Bella and the software crashes, I’ve just updated.

Looks like tomorrow will have to be another mini-car cast if it gets done at all. Of course, the Trek report will likely take me many hours so who knows if I’ll even get to record this week.

This weekend, I’ll be attending Podcamp Boston 2 on Saturday (Sunday is the Redskins game) so I’ll need to get all of my tailgate shopping and stuff done on Friday. Having missed all of the other Podcamps and Expos, I’m thrilled to going to this one. Luckily, the game is at 4:15, so I’ll be able to make my chili on Sunday morning and will be able to be present for Matthew Ebel’s GoodBye Planet Earth CD release party on Saturday night. Wooohooo!!

The back has been a little better, probably because I’ve been doing a lot of walking and yoga. Of course, it takes up time, something I don’t have much of, but it’s well worth it for many reasons.

Meanwhile, as one to file in the “no-stress” category, the Red Sox are up 13-1 in Game 1 of the World Series against the Rockies, so at this point it’s safe for me to head to bed.
