So, we spent the night on the boat but the DD (darling daughter) offered to take the dogs out in the morning for us so we left them home. It was a nice fall night at the marina. It was quiet and calm and was a great night to sleep down there. We went to the County Cork for dinner and drinks then headed to the boat to relax and spend the evening. We’ll likely head back next weekend then she’ll be pulled to rest for the winter.

Busy Bee

It’s back to school (work) and back to school (RIC) time for me so my calendar is jam packed.  I’m excited to be starting the new school year and extremely happy to entering my final semester towards my new Graduate Certificate in Autism Education.  I am part of a pilot program for the brand new certification and it’s an incredible amount of work.

Summer was fantastic; working 3 days a week was perfect and the weather was stellar. We spent days off in the bay in our boat and enjoyed two glorious weeks at our favorite vacation spot in New Hampshire, Abakee Cottages. I went back to school refreshed, renewed and ready to work.

Now that fall is here, Patriots football is back!  I’m missing my Sundays at Gillette quite a bit this year; now that my health is back full strength, I’ve been thinking about my tailgate crew more than ever. I know that life goes on and times (financially and work schedules) are different but there are days that I miss being “Mrs. B.” and the whirlwind life that we lived during those championship years. Realistically, with all of my homework and just not enough time to get it all done, I could never give up an entire Sunday for a 3 hour game this fall anyway.  But I still miss my friends  and will be with them in spirit. GO PATS!!

Super Bowl 46 Bound!!

What an emotionally draining game! The Patriots just defeated the Ravens in the  AFC Championship Game 23-20 and it was a nail biter to say the least! I watched the game alone as Al was working and I was yelling and screaming and crying too! I think the effect of not being there with season tickets really hit me too. We had many great times there spent with friends and I know that our life is different now but it would have been great to share it with the crew.  As for now, I am sure that it’s going to be Patriots Fever here in New England leading up to the game (and afterward when we win the 4th Lombardi!)

NaBloPoMo# 21 Normalcy

Today was one of those kinds of days that I love… It was  a Sunday that I was home, had no real plans  and did some domestic things.  Al and I worked in the yard all morning, raking leaves, pulling the garden and clearing off the porch. Then I made some delicious, vegan butternut squash, sweet potato soup for the girls and lasagna for the boys… I spent the afternoon cleaning a bit, catching up with Glee and America’s Next Top Model on Hulu that I missed this week because of the wake, and I’m watching the Patriots right now.

I’m going to bed early tonight, but might even take a nice hot bath first. I think curling up in bed with a good book and pot of tea tonight sounds lovely. Glad it’s a short week because it’s going to be a super busy one.

NaPoBloMo #7 Football, Friends, Food

Sundays in the fall are for football, friends, and food. We had plenty of all three today as we headed up to Randy & Tracy’s to watch the game. The friends were great, the food was awesome, but the football… not so much. The Patriots played horribly and got spanked, 34-14 by the Browns. Still, it was a great day and it’s always nice to spend time with fellow Razor Edge Tailgaters.

NaBloPoMo #1 New Beginnings

Visit NaBloPoMo

New Beginnings… Here we are in November and it’s time for the annual National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) and once again I am committing to post 30 posts in 30 days. I’ve been super busy with school and as usual at this time of the year, I have to deal with the Alternate Assessment that is required because of the population of students that I teach.

Patriots football is in full swing and as of today, have the best record in the league at 6-1!!!  I still love my team but I’ve virtually pod-faded my Patriots Podcast as it’s just not practical for me to keep it up.. Reasons: 1. It takes up too many hours that I don’t have to spare; 2. I no longer attend every game as my life is in a different place these days; 3. All of the professionals are doing podcasts and do it for a living.. thus, have time and access and also don’t have to to all of the technical end themselves. 4. The “podcasting community” has pretty much faded as well.  It was a great run but life goes on…

Healthwise, I’m almost back to my old self and I’ve been walking every day and I am determined to lose the weight that I picked up over the past year. I need to do it for my health and well-being and also because I have nothing to wear! I actually walked to work this morning which killed two birds with one stone. I still would much rather walk outside than a treadmill and would definitely walk TO a destination than just walk for the sake of walking.

Busy, Busy B!

My "Disney World" :-)

Patriots Training Camp is in full swing and I’ve attended all but one of the sessions thus far. Training Camp reports are here and have been keeping me super busy. Tonight is a ticketed practice inside Gillette Stadium and I could have gone but I’ve got way too much to catch up on here so I bowed out.

Garden tomatoes are ripening at once so I see some canning on the agenda.  Also, the laundry pile is growing and I’ve had a few appointments to attend as well. Up until camp, I was reading like crazy but that has taken a back seat for the time being. (Pats news is on my radar now…)

We’ve been watching Pillars of the Earth on Starz and it’s been excellent. It was one of my favorite books, written by Ken Follett, and they are doing a great job with the adaptation.

So, I’ve got the rest of this afternoon and this evening to get some things done before heading back to camp tomorrow.  Hope that it’s productive!

Great friends.. great times :)

I’m parked in my usual spot in the hotel lobby in Ft. Lauderdale and just finished securing tickets for our friend for Sunday’s game. We’re having a few cocktails and just ordered food.  It feels good to just relax and enjoy the company of good friends.  It’ll  be even better to see a good win on Sunday!

Our flight down was a bit bumpy but was uneventful and after meeting up with Bama and securing our car, we dove into lunch. We hung around in the lounge waiting for our room and caught up with friends. I was pleased to get some reading done and tomorrow I’m hoping for some sun so I can get some pool time in.

For now, I’m just content to kick back and be a lobby lizard… Go Pats!!
