NaBloPoMo #29 Close but no cigar…

UGH!!!!!  I can’t believe I forgot to post yesterday on 11/29!  What a dip. I guess it’s indicative of the stress and craziness of late. Oh well, while it would have been great to fulfill the NaBloPoMo commitment, and I missed by one day, I’m NOT going to sweat the small stuff. I’ve got far bigger things to think about.

On another note, today is the final day of Seesmic.TV, the video conversation site that took the web by storm in 2007/2008 and has since faded… However, knowing that it will be gone forever is sad. Many friendships have been formed over there and continue to this day. A huge group of members have gotten together for weekends over the years. (Not me, but I lived vicariously through them and their Seesmic postings.)  Like the podcasting community that I was once heavily involved in, things have a way of evolving, changing and moving on.. Still, thanks for the memories….

NaBloPoMo #28 Lazy Sunday

It was great that I had a 4 day weekend, especially since I had so much to do.  Because of the extra days, I was able to get my decorating and shopping done and STILL have a day to hang around and lounge out today. I did quite a bit of reading, did some cooking and was able to relax for a change.  I’m so glad because looking at my calendar, it’s going to be a busy week and I have some books that can’t be renewed.  As for now, I’m praying that I’ll sleep through the night and the pre-work wheels won’t be spinning.

NaBloPoMo #27 Crossing off the list

Al and I had a productive day today, starting and finishing our shopping in one day. We don’t buy much these days and most of it includes gift cards but we wanted to get it over with early. The only holiday thing we have left to do is get our live tree for the family room and decorate it but it’s a great feeling to have things done before December even hits!

NaBloPoMo #26 Out with the old…

..in with the new. I took down all of my fall decorations today and put up all of my Christmas stuff. It feels good to have it done early. I took Jake to the airport early this morning and continued working ALL day until dinner time. (He’s still not there yet and it’s been 12 hours already.)  Tomorrow, we plan on banging out the little bit of shopping that we do to get that overwith as well.

As for now, it’s time for a glass of wine and Netflix.

NaBloPoMo #24 Making Ready

Today was a great day at school. We started off with a team breakfast and it was pretty low key for the rest of the day as well. The kids were great. I’m very thankful because I was very tired and in pain today.

Al’s dad came home from the hospital today so I needed to go fix his meds afterschool then needed to go back int he evening  because I needed to change something. When I got home, I started cooking for tomorrow and did as much as I could tonight.

I’ve got a pain in my stomach tonight so I hope I’m not coming down with something. I certainly hope I sleep tonight, especially since I’ll be up early getting the turkey in the oven. We need to eat early because the Pats are playing at 12:30 and I plan on spending the afternoon on the couch.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

NaBloPoMo #23 ZZZZZ

Tired today and hoping for a solid night’s sleep. There’s one more day of school this week then I’m looking forward to a quiet Thanksgiving. Gone are the days of 30 folks crammed in my family room. This year it’s just going to be my family of 4 plus my dad. Beto has to work at 3:00 and the Patriots are on at 12:30 so din-din will be promptly at noon.

As of now, time to roll over!

NaBloPoMo# 22 I <3 teaching

I love it when I have one if those days when I hit it just right. Today was one. Lessons were challenging enough but not too over their heads that they weren’t engaged.  One of my greatest joys is seeing that door to reading unlock. I feel like my reading group is sprouting wings and can now begin to fly.  :-)

NaBloPoMo# 21 Normalcy

Today was one of those kinds of days that I love… It was  a Sunday that I was home, had no real plans  and did some domestic things.  Al and I worked in the yard all morning, raking leaves, pulling the garden and clearing off the porch. Then I made some delicious, vegan butternut squash, sweet potato soup for the girls and lasagna for the boys… I spent the afternoon cleaning a bit, catching up with Glee and America’s Next Top Model on Hulu that I missed this week because of the wake, and I’m watching the Patriots right now.

I’m going to bed early tonight, but might even take a nice hot bath first. I think curling up in bed with a good book and pot of tea tonight sounds lovely. Glad it’s a short week because it’s going to be a super busy one.
